Summer below the Ortler
Alpine pastures, huts, glaciers and two via ferratas: the trail starts at the hotel door.
01 · Hiking from the door
From Hotel Cornelia at 1,900 m, you set off on foot straight to alpine pastures and mountain huts in the Stelvio National Park.
The choice ranges from easy walks through alpine rose woods to rock and ice tours. Along the way, plenty of mountain huts invite you to stop for a break. The hiking map shows every trail in the Ortler area.

02 · Every week
Once a week Hotel Cornelia organises a guided hike, either to a mountain hut above the glaciers or along old wartime trails.

03 · Peaks
Fourteen peaks over 3,000 m surround the Sulden valley. The highest is the Ortler at 3,905 m, the highest mountain in South Tyrol. Beside it rise the Königsspitze and the Cevedale.
Every route up the Ortler is a demanding high-alpine tour. The normal route starts in Sulden or Trafoi, is partly secured as a via ferrata and crosses steep firn and ice. For climbs like these, it is best to go with a mountain guide.

04 · Via ferratas
Sulden has two via ferratas. Both are tough and a real challenge for experienced climbers.

05 · For quieter days
In the forest at the head of the Sulden valley lies a small Kneipp water-therapy area. Along the Sulden culture trail, the EVOPÄD course awaits with seven stations.
